03 - 29 - 2012 Second Mile charity calls off its 2012 golf tournament
(CDT) The Second Mile will not hold its annual golf tournament this summer, a charity official said yesterday. Dave Woodle, the vice chairman of the charityâs board, said the charity is operating with a smaller staff, would have had a short window to organize the event, & is focusing on figuring out the charityâs future amid the child sex abuse case involving its founder, Jerry Sandusky. The golf outing has been perhaps the most visible event for The Second Mile. It regularly featured PSU athletes & has been a hallmark fundraiser for the charity.
