12 - 23 - 2011 SEDA-COG rail authority board member resigns
(DI) Dennis Shaffer has resigned from the SEDA-Council of Governments Joint Rail Authority board as his employer, Moran Industries President John Moran, makes a bid for the authority's assets. Shaffer would not comment on his decision yesterday, but on Wednesday, he conceded that Moran's $12.5 million offer to buy the rail line from the authority represents a conflict of interest for him as a board member representing Union Co. Moran operates a warehousing & distribution company based in Watsontown.
