09 - 23 - 2011 Mifflin Co. School Board tackles transportation woes
(LS) As the newly reorganized Mifflin Co. School District works through its growing pains, transportation issues have been the key concern in the early part of the new school year. Last night Nancy Craig, the district's Transportation Coordinator, addressed the board on what is being done to alleviate a clogged bussing dilemma. The district is working with Lewistown Borough on using Flemming Ave. & with PennDOT to lengthen traffic signals. The option of adding busses is not being ignored, either, to keep travel time to one hour for students. The solution to the waiting time for busses & travel time continue to be a work in progress.
