09 - 06 - 2011 Air Force Officers march through Snyder Co. to Ground Zero
(DI) This past Sunday, 14 Air Force base security officers traveled along US 522 in Snyder Co. to honor victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Because of the warm, humid weather, one member of the group marched while his fellow officers rode close behind in cars. The marcher changed every hour. They said that in better weather, all members march together. On July 12, the 1st such unit of base security officers left San Antonio, TX with the goal for a succession of units to reach Ground Zero in New York City, more than 1,800 miles away, as a way to commemorate all of the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
