08 - 30 - 2011 Sunbury fisherman pulled from flooded Susquehanna
(DI) Joseph Redmond was was inches away from drowning in the rain-swollen Susquehanna River before he was rescued yesterday by emergency personnel. Afterward, he casually walked away from the boat that carried him to safety. Redmond was spotted in distress at the Fabridam just after 6pm. The Sunbury 2nd Assistant Fire Chief said Redmond was rescued by the Sunbury River Rescue, & once the boat came ashore, Redmond just walked away. Minutes later, Redmond was stopped walking up Front St. by DCNR officials.
