08 - 03 - 2010 Centre Co. Library branch relocates from Aaronsburg to Milheim
(CDT) The Director of the Centre Co. Library says the library will permanently relocate its Aaronsburg branch to the Millheim Borough Building’s main floor. Structural issues caused the Aaronsburg facility—the former Emanuel Evangelical Church—to close on July 16 for maintenance & repairs. That library, which first opened in 1968, joined the Centre Co. Library system in 1995. With the same floor space as the old location, the new library should open the 1st week of September. Millheim received federal stimulus dollars to update the building’s heating & cooling system to geothermal & install energy efficient windows. The borough will also allow the library to use one of its rooms for additional programming space. With the move comes a new name. The library will be called the East Penns Valley Branch.
