06 - 09 - 2010 SUV spirals over an embankment after crash on US 322.
Mifflin Co. Regional Police say the SUV driven by Joyce Barton of Milroy was carrying 3 passengers, Nancy Casner, Anna Herbert, & Rosemary Loudenslager all of Lewistown. All 4 were sent to area hospitals from injuries after their vehicle was pushed off the road by an out of control Ford Focus that was driven by Hope Martin of Harrisburg. Both vehicles were west-bound when Martin swerved to avoid an object on the road & went onto the shoulder. She then swerved back onto the road striking Bartonâs SUV, sending it onto an embankment where it became airborne & spiraled out of control. The SUV came down into a wooded area on the other side of the embankment. Barton was uninjured while the 4 in the SUV had to be extricated. Barton & Casner was treated at Lewistown Hospital with Herbert & Loudenslager being Life-Flighted to Geisinger.
