06 - 08 - 2010 Crashes close Rt. 235 again & Rt. 104 for hours in Snyder Co.
(DI) Cleanup operations continue at 2 truck crash sites in Snyder Co., according to PennDOT spokesman Rick Mason. Mason said both roads remain closed, but could reopen later this afternoon. The first road is Rt. 104 south of Mount Pleasant Mills between Trout Valley Rd. & Hinkle Rd. They said a tractor-trailer hauling turkeys overturned about 5:30am yesterday. Traffic was being detoured onto local roads until repairs were completed. The 2nd road is Rt. 235 in Spring Twp., where police said a tractor-trailer overturned about 6:40am yesterday near Beaver Springs at Three Rivers Road. As emergency crews clean up that crash, people who live here said, it's like déjà vu. In May a tanker carrying fuel crashed & burned in the same area closing the road for almost 2 weeks. PennDOT officials said, "because of this crash & the one that happened here less than a month ago they are now doing a safety study. That will determine if changes need to be made on this road."
