05 - 26 - 2010 Mt. Union hires new Superintendent of Schools
(LS) Following the resignation of James Estep at the end of the school year, the Mt. Union School Board has voted to bring on Dr. Brett Gilliland as the districtâs new superintendent. Estep resigned to take on the duties of Superintendent of the Mifflin Co. School District. Dr. Gilliland is an alumni of the Mt. Union Schools who went on to graduate from Juniata College & later Penn State, Duquesne, & Shippensburg Universities. School board members voted to hire Gilliland on a 7-2 vote. Board president Ralph Parks said Dr. Gilliland would be able to guide the district through the successful completion of the schoolâs construction process.
