03 - 22 - 2010 Midd-West students mourn death of 3 classmates on Friday
(DI) Dozens of classmates & friends fought back tears Saturday night during a vigil for 2 Midd-West High School students killed in an automobile accident Friday afternoon. Mourners gathered at Solid Rock Youth Center in Middleburg to remember 16-y/o sophomore Jacob Kemble & 14-y/o freshman Kylie Hummel, who were among the 5 Midd-West students involved in the crash. Leah Foor the assistant director for Solid Rock said that Kemble was a "sweetheart" who had great respect for his friends & helped keep the center in order. Kemble & Hummel were passengers in a Ford Windstar driven by 18-y/o Patrick Sullivan of Paxtonville, as were 16-y/o Ethan Miller & 14-y/o Brooke Shwope. Sullivan & Miller were flown by Life Flight helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after the 2:30pm accident on Sale Barn Rd. in Middlecreek Twp., Snyder Co. Shwope was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
