08 - 28 - 2013 J.-Co. residents eligible for prescription drugs discount
MIFFLINTOWN - All Juniata County residents are eligible for a 22 to 40 percent discount on prescription drugs, said Allison Fisher, human services director. Fisher gave a brief presentation on Tuesday morning during a meeting of the Juniata County Board of Commissioners to remind area residents of the program. She said discount cards work like a coupon and are not attached to any personal information. If they are lost or stolen, a new card can be provided. Commissioner Teresa O'Neal said the cards are offered at no cost to Juniata County and also can be used for family, pet or livestock prescription medications. The program has been in effect since about 2006. Area residents who are not sure where to pick up a NACo Prescription Discount Card may call Allison Fisher at 242-5452 to have one mailed.
