08 - 26 - 2013 State College police officers injured in a downtown scuffle
Multiple State College police officers sustained injuries late Saturday night after a scuffle with a group of men who had open beer cans, police said. Mario Vincent Palarino,19, was charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor escape, misdemeanor resisting arrest and summary offenses of underage drinking and an open container violation after the incident which occurred on the 300 block of East Prospect Avenue just before midnight. Police said Palarino kicked multiple officers causing minor arm abrasions and tried to run. Alcohol is believed to be a factor. Palarino was arraigned on $25,000 bail. He remains in Centre County Correctional Facility after being unable to post the bail. He has a preliminary hearing for Wednesday.
