07 - 24 - 2013 Graffiti vandals plead guilty to defacing Fountain Square Park
LEWISTOWN - Two Lewistown men charged in connection with spraying racist graffiti at the Five Points Fountain Square Park pleaded guilty to felony counts of criminal mischief. Adam Joseph Troup, 24, and John Richard Lohman II, 28, both pleaded guilty on Tuesday to the above charge. Ethnic intimidation charges were withdrawn against the two men. Both men were sentenced to serve 2 1/2 to 18 months in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility. They also have ongoing restitution costs to pay to the victims who had their cars spray painted and a lengthy community service requirement to fulfill. Police said Troup and Lohman were stopped by an officer near Logan Street in the early morning hours of May 21, and were found in possession of spray paint cans. Police said the investigation of the damage to the vehicles led to the discovery that racially offensive words were spray-painted on several buildings, including a building adjacent to the park.
