07 - 01 - 2013 Drunk driving charges filed on a Western PA county commissioner
MERCER, Pa. â A western Pennsylvania county commissioner has been charged with drunken driving after being stopped by state police at a checkpoint. Online court records don't list an attorney for 43-year-old Brian Beader, of Hermitage. Beader is in his third term as a Democratic commissioner in Mercer County. Beader didn't immediately return a call Monday, nor did a county spokesman. The (Sharon) Herald reports state police stopped Beader at a roving DUI checkpoint after a trooper saw him driving erratically. Police say he appeared to be intoxicated and was taken to UPMC Horizon hospital in Farrell for a blood test after being arrested about 1:40 am Saturday. Police say Beader was released to the custody of his wife.
