06 - 27 - 2013 Mifflin Co. Library begins summer reading program
LEWISTOWN - School is out, summer is here and the Summer Reading Program at the Mifflin County Library has begun. Youth services librarian Susan Miriello said there is only one rule: Read and have fun! "Below the Surface," a library scavenger hunt, is being offered for sixth graders through recent high school graduates. After participants register for the program, they receive six tickets with checklists on the back listing different genres of print media and books. Miriello said tickets must be returned weekly by Saturday. She said participants may return one ticket per week or enter them all at the same time. Teens who read 37 books by Aug. 3 earn one ticket to be entered in a grand prize drawing for an iPod touch, sponsored by the Friends of the Mifflin County Library.
