06 - 25 - 2013 PennDOT to invest funds for Mifflin-Juniata infrastructure
LEWISTOWN - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation recently revealed their "Decade of Improvement" website which lists nearly two dozen infrastructure projects for the Juniata Valley. There are currently three competing transportation plans in the works: one proposed by Gov. Tom Corbett, one by the state senate and now PennDOT's plan. The public can compare the plans on the website. PennDOT's plan would invest $55 million over the next 10 years in a multitude of bridge and road projects throughout Mifflin and Juniata counties. Pennsylvania is home to the nation's fifth-largest state-maintained roadway network, the fourth-highest number of interstate miles and has the sixth-highest number of registered vehicles.
