06 - 12 - 2013 Mifflin-Juniata CTC Committee discuss 2013-14 school year plans
LEWISTOWN - The Mifflin-Juniata Career and Technology Center's Joint Operating Committee met Tuesday evening in Lewistown to discuss procedural and personnel items related to the 2013-14 school year. The new Mifflin County committee will hold meetings at 6 pm on the third Thursday of each month before Mifflin County School District's Board of Directors committee-of-the-whole meetings. Juniata County will still have the opportunity to have one representative on the board, and all meetings will be held at the MJCTC. During the meeting, Director Daniel Potutschnig said there are 342 students enrolled at the school next year, including 117 new students. He said those numbers are about even with ending enrollment for the 2012-2013 school year. There are still a few program vacancies open to both Mifflin and Juniata county students, he said. Also during the meeting, the committee approved the articles of agreement between the Mifflin County and Juniata County school districts. Representatives also appointed the law firm of Rhoades and Sinon as solicitor of the school for a one-year term beginning July 1.
