03 - 04 - 2013 Benefit Dr. Seuss breakfast benefits Richfield pre-school
RICHFIELD - Ham, scrambled eggs and a little green makes for a successful breakfast. The first Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast, held this past Saturday, surpassed all expectations, raising more than $1,000 for the In the Beginning Preschool, located at the Richfield United Methodist Church. Teacher Beth Young said the idea for the fundraiser came from a parent. The meal was conveniently held on the date of Seuss' birthday. The Cat in the Hat visited the event held at the Parish House in Richfield. Another fundraiser, an annual event, will include a spaghetti supper and open house, as well as the Roger Snyder 5K run set for April 6 in Richfield. Last year's run raised $6,000 for the school.
