05 - 11 - 2012 Midd-West School District votes Monday on school closures
The Midd West School board will vote on Monday to eliminate a $1.8 million budget gap & closing 2 elementary schools is one of the choices. A recent work session was held where the board discussed the benefits of closing Perry-West Perry & West Beaver elementary schools. This would save the district $150,000. The students would attend Middleburg Elementary School & Middleburg Middle, which would be transformed into an intermediate school for 3rd-5th grade. Both middle schools would then be consolidated at the West Snyder Middle School for 6th-8th grades.
